In de nacht van 11 op 12 Juni 1943 beschoot een Duitse nachtjager een Lancaster van de RAAF. Deze bommenwerper was op de ferugieg van een bombardement op de stad Dusseldorf naar de thuisbasis in Binbrook, Engeland. De Lancaster Mk1 stortte neer op de plek voor u. Alle zeven bemannings leden kwamen daarbi om het leven
Translation "In the early morning hours of June 12th, 1943, a RAAF Lancaster was shot down by a German nightfighter. The bomber was on its return to the home base in Binbrook, England after completing a mission to the city of Düsseldorf. The Lancaster MkI crashed at the location in front of you. All seven crew members lost their lives" |
