| Reason for Aircraft Loss | From base to Helmsley, Manby, Wainfleet Sands Cranwell back to base eta 2010. Failed to return. On 21 June the Royal Navy Liaison Officer at Humber advised that a dinghy containing the bodies of Sgt Hare and Sgt Burt RCAF had been recovered by an RAF high speed launch at 5413N 0131E but of the rest of the crew there was no sign. Another crew ,similarly tasked had reported clear weather along the route and in a report sent on 17 June 1941 states (it is reasonable to assume that such loss was caused by enemy action) |
