Britse bommenwerper, de Wellington Mark X Neergestort in de nacht van 28 Mei 1943 in het Boersbos te Oele. In het hierachter gelegen Boersbos is op 28 Mei 1943, rond éen uur 's nachts, een Britse bommenwerper -de Wellington Mark X HE752 AS-W met vijf bemanningsleden aan boord neergestort. Het toestel was in de late avond van 27 Mei 1943 vertrokken van de Britse militaire vliegbasis Kirmington. Het maakte deel uit van het RAF 166 Sqn en was met een luchtvloot van 518 bommenwerpers onderweg naar het Duitse Essen
Translation "British bomber, the Wellington Mark X crashed on the night of 28 May 1943 in the Boersbos in Oele. On 28 May 1943, around one o'clock in the morning, a British bomber - the Wellington Mark X HE752 AS-W with five crew members on board crashed in the Boersbos located behind here. The aircraft had departed from the British military airbase Kirmington in the late evening of 27 May 1943. It was part of the RAF 166 Sqn and was on its way to the German Essen with an air fleet of 518 bombers." |
