Miscellaneous Information
Geoffrey was born at Raymore, Saskatchewan on 5 October 1913. Both parents were born in England and his father worked as a Salesman. The schools he attended were Benson, 1926-1928, Public school, Central Collegiate 1928- 1930 and Regina Technical 1930-1931. Geoffrey also took a business course at night school with Success Business College. The sports he was engaged in were baseball, hockey, golf and riding. He undertook several jobs including a clerk at McBrides Ltd 1931-1933, at Foodland Ltd. also as a clerk 1933-1934, and at Imperial Oil as a Yard man. He then became as a Salesman for Loblaw’s, Toronto in the grocery department during 1937-1940. |
Geoffrey enlisted on 20 August 1940 and after basic training was posted to the U.K. where he arrived at 3PRC on 7 June 1941. He then continued through 12 OTU on 14 June 1941, 1.S.S. 21 July 1941, 27 OTU 17 November 1941 and 103 Squadron 13 May 1942. Sadly Geoffrey lost his life the following month on 23 June 1942 |
