Reason for Loss | Airborne 23:27. Crashed into the North Sea. The body of F/S R.H.Galipeau RCAF was washed ashore near Lakolk on the island of Rømø on 16 Oct 1942 and was buried in Kirkeby Cemetery, Denmark. The other members of the crew have no known graves and are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. F/Sgt Galipeau and Sgt MacArthur were American citizens from Minnesota and Massachusetts who had joined the Canadian air force. |
