Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off at 1830hrs for a 7hr cross country exercise. The aircraft ran short of fuel and shortly before 0130hrs a mayday call was picked up but despite clear broadcast response no reply was forthcoming. The aircraft had crashed near the village of Edwinstowe, northern end of Sherwood Forest. |
