Miscellaneous Information
Victor was born on 6 July 1916 at Edmonton, Alberta. Both parents were born in England and his father, a soldier, had sadly lost his life having been killed in action in the First World War. The schools he attended were Lord Roberts, Vancouver, 1929-1932 and King John High, 1932-1934. He enjoyed playing football and baseball. Between 1935 - 1942 Victor had worked as a furniture salesman at Woodward Stores Ltd. |
He enlisted on 24 April 1942 and after training he embarked from New York on 4 May 1943 for the U.K. He arrived at 3 PRC on 12 May 1943 and then 30 OTU on 18 May 1943. Victor very sadly lost his life two months later on 7 July 1943. Just before going on leave he had become engaged to Miss Anne McKenzie. |
