Miscellaneous Information
Daniel was born on 18 April 1923 at Preston, Lancashire, England. Both parents were born in Preston and his father worked as an Airframe mechanic. He attended Berriedale Public school between 1930-1938 and then Burks Falls High school 1938-1941. He also went to Weston Tech. Baseball and skating were his sport interests and he enjoyed building model aircraft. During the school holidays Daniel took on temporary work at Canadian Acme Screw and Gear. |
Daniel enlisted on 18 August 1941 and after training, embarked from Canada for the U.K. on 13 March 1942. Arriving at 3PRC on 24 March 1942 he went on to 3AGS 28 May 1942, 420 Sqn 27 June 1942, and 83 Squadron 28 June 1942. Very sadly Daniel was to lose his life on 31 December1942. |
