Reason for Loss | Airborne 22:58 on 24 Jun 1944 from Bardney to attack the flying-bomb site at Prouville. Coned at 12,000 feet soon after crossing the French coast and hit repeatedly by Flak. The bomb load was jettisoned but soon afterwards the Lancaster crashed at Yvrencheux (Somme), 15 km NE of Abbeville. Five crew killed, two prisoner of war |
