Woensdag 21 Februari 1945 om 1707 ur stoog vanaf Coningsby, de Lancaster OL-Y NE 165 op om deel te nemen aan een Path Findersmissie op Gravenhorst, Duitsland. De Lancaster OL-Y NE165 stortte om 20.45 uur neer nadat deze was getroffen door geschut van een Duitse nachtjager. Aan boord bevond zich een 8 koppige bemanning. Alleen flying officer EH. Eddie Hansen overleefde deze crash
Translation "Wednesday 21 February 1945 at 1707 hours, Lancaster OL-Y NE165 took off from Coningsby to take part in a Path Finders mission at Gravenhorst, Germany. Lancaster NE165 crashed at 20.45 hours after it was hit by gunfire from a German nightfighter. There was a crew of 8 on board. Only flying officer EH. Eddie Hansen survived this crash" |
