Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off at 2141hrs. At 0050hours at a height of 4800m the aircraft was attacked by a night fighter flown by Hptm. Helmut Bergmann, using 'Schrage Musik' from a range of 100m. He shot the aircraft down causing it to crash at Laneuville-a-Bayard, on the west bank of the Marne river. 10km SE of St Dizier. |
