| His father, Ernest, served in the Army, the RNAS and the RAF, as a Commissioned Officer Pilot, during WWI. He was appointed to a Commission as a Flight Lieutenant in the Administrative and Special Duties Branch of the RAFVR in 1939 at the commencement of the second War and worked in the Directorate of War Organisation at the Air Ministry; Acting Wing Commander in 1945. He was a Solicitor of the High Court of London in civilian life. |
