Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off to bomb oil facilities. At unknown time en route to the target, the aircraft was hit by anti aircraft fire. Cyril received injuries as did the pilot. His injuries were tended by a fellow crew member Ron Knight. Cyril passed away in Ron's arms. |
