Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off from Church Broughton for a Bull's-eye Exercise, during the sortie the weather around Church Broughton closed in and at 0059 hrs a recall message was transmitted by wireless which was not acknowledged. QDM's were signalled before and after 0123 hrs . At 0200 hrs reports were received that a Wellington had crashed on a hillside in Darley Moor 4 miles from Matlock Derbyshire. There were only two survivors |
