Reason for Loss | Attacked over the target after the bombing run by two Fw 190s, the first killing two of the men and the second killing Capron and also hitting the oxygen bottles. Despite an attempt to limp home it was eventually decided to abandon the aircraft. It crashed at Harderwijk, Holland and Phillips, Fair and the pilot Craigie were taken PoW. Peat was later found on the ground with his parachute unopened. |
