Reason for Loss | Killed in an collision between a lorry and a coach on the junction of Cliff Road and Prebend Lane, Welton, near Lincoln. Six others were seriously injured including one critically. (Lincolnshire Echo, 29 May 1942). The lorry went up a bank and overturned while at least some of the airmen were sitting on the tailgate of the lorry. The coroner recorded a virdict of death by misadventure. |
