Miscellaneous Information
He had completed a full tour of ops and had volunteered and been accepted for pilot training in Canada. After having had a period of home leave he returned to 12 Sqn to await his onward posting details as there had been an admin delay. On the day of his return -23 August 1943- he was informed that his replacement on the squadron strength had gone sick. Barrass volunteered to step in as a "maximum effort" had been called for that night and was tragically lost on that operation. |
