Operation | Long range armed recce - Oldenburg - Holdorf - Osnabruck area |
Reason for Loss | Attacked a train during which the aircraft was hit by flak and belly landed but fell into the hands of the Volkssturm and was shot by F. König and A. Bühning. The perpetrators of this crime were hunted down immediately after the war, with one being shot while trying to escape and the other one sentenced to death. The bodies of both airmen were later exhumed from their makeshift grave and given a proper burial. |
