Last Operation Information
Start Date | - |
End Date | - |
Takeoff Station | Thorney Island |
Operation | Attack on enemy targets in the rear of the Ardennes salient. |
Reason for Loss | The engine cut out and the aircraft lost height. It was abandoned and the pilot was killed, probably because he was too low for his parachute to be effective. The navigator baled out at 600 feet and was uninjured. He retruned to the squadron on 20 January. |
