| Reason for Aircraft Loss | He was knocked down and killed by an R.A.F. van which WO Baker was driving on the night of Sunday 31 May. Baker was formally charged with driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol to such an extent as to render him incapable of having proper control of the vehicle. On this charge counsel offered no evidence and the judge directed the jury to return a verdict of 'Not guilty.' Baker was accordingly dicharged. |
