Miscellaneous Information
Born 21 November 1895 in Saint Maurice, France. Originally a teacher in Tramoyes but was sent to the eastern front during WWI, where he was wounded. He was demobilised in September 1919 and returned to teaching. In 1939, he was mobilized again, in a regiment in Meknes, Morocco but was arrested for refusing the armistice in 1941 and was expelled from Morocco. He then became an agent of the Central Information and Action Bureau (BCRA) in Ain, France and was very active in the destruction of railways in the region of Bourg-en-Bresse. In September 1943 he left for London where he became involved with the SOE. |
