Reason for Loss | Taken prisoner after Z6947 was shot down and abandoned by all but the pilot. After repatriation he died at 4.43 a.m. on 14 July 1947 at Tor-Na-Dee, Milltimber, Aberdeenshire, due to pulmonary TB and diabetes mellitus which were thought to be directly attributable to his time as a prisoner of war. |
