Reason for Loss | Attacked by a Ju88 and Me110 directly after bombing. Received significant damage and all but the pilot and the front gunner received serious injuries. Additionally, the port engine was rendered inoperable. Despite this, the pilot successfully regained the UK coastline with the assistance of the injured navigator and effected a crash landing on return to RAF Swanton Morley. |
