Miscellaneous Information
Jack was born on 16 December 1915 in North Vancouver. Both parents were deceased by the time Jack enlisted. They were both born in Wishaw, Scotland and his father had been a Master plumber. He had a married sister Agnes Kennedy who was now his next-of-kin. Jack went to Ridgeway Public School 1922-1930 and North Vancouver High, 1930-1934. His hobby was photography and sporting interests tennis, swimming and soccer. Jack worked at Deep Cove Boat House 1934-1935 as a clerk and then as a Purchasing Agent for Gordon and Belgrave Hardware, 1935- 1940. |
He enlisted on 25 October 1940 and after embarking from Canada arrived in the U.K. at 3 PRC on 30 July 1942. This was followed by 7 AGS 15 September 1942, 20 OTU 22 September 1942, 1658 CU 16 December 1942 and 515 Squadron on 9 February 1943. He lost his life seven weeks later. |
