Aan de bosrand recht voor u crashte op 16 Juli 1941 Vickers Wellington R1536 van 218 Squadron Royal Air Force. Het viieotuig was op de terugweg van een bombardement op Duisburg toen het werd neergeschoten door een Duitse nachtjager.
Translation "On the edge of the forest right in front of you, Vickers Wellington R1536 of 218 Sqn Royal Air Force crashed on 16 July 1941. The aircraft was on its way back from a bombing raid on Duisburg when it was shot down by a German nightfighter" |
