Miscellaneous Information
His Father George had a varied and interesting working career as a Teacher, in senior administrative positions of notable societies, as a Journalist with 'The Daily Herald' for nine years and two years as the Labour MP for Loughborough (1929-31). Although Keith was born in Leicester, 17 June 1911, he grew up in Surrey and was educated under a scholarship at Purley County School, Kenley. Both he and his Brother Paul traveled the World during the 1930's whilst working as Journalists. Their paths diverged when Keith, despite having pacifist opinions, enlisted in the RAF Volunteer Reserve at Uxbridge whilst Paul went to Moscow as the BBC's Overseas Correspondent (1942-45). Sadly by the time Paul returned home, after the conclusion of the War, Keith and both his parents had died. |
