Miscellaneous Information
Robert was born on 4 October 1917 at Cobden, Ontario. His father was deceased and his mother was born at Beachburg, Ontario. He attended SS No 2 Westmeath Continuation School, Cobden 1931-1933 and Renfrew Collegiate 1933-1937. His sport interests were softball, basketball, hockey and swimming. Robert worked as a labourer on his mother’s farm between 1937 and 1940 until he enlisted on 21 June 1940. |
After initial training he was sent to the U.K. where he arrived at 3 PRC On 19 April 1941. He continued on to 10 OTU on 26 April 1941 and 10 Squadron on 20 July 1941. Robert sadly lost his life from 10 Squadron on 6 September 1941. |
