Operation | Emden- the last raid of the war on this town. 181 aircraft. An escorted raid, with Spitfires to being with, then American Mustangs. 1 Lancaster lost- the Deputy Master Bomber. The bombing was accurate and the town was seen to be a mass of flames, although no local report is available. |
Reason for Loss | Hit by flak over the target and crashed east of the city centre. |
