Miscellaneous Information
After initial training he was sent to the U.K., arriving on 2 March 1941, then 19 OTU 14 March 1941, and 77 Squadron 30 August 1941. Bruce sadly lost his life the following month on 21 September 1941. |

Reason for Loss | Bruce was born at Stratford, Ontario on 6 March 1920. His parents were born in Ontario, his father in Brussels, his mother in Stratford. He had a brother, F/O Morley Wilbee RCAF, who also sadly lost his life on 11 February 1945. No. 423 Sqn (Coastal Command) were on an operation when an engine caught fire and all nine crew lost their lives. He attended Juliett Public School 1925-1933 Stratford and Stratford Collegiate Institute 1934-1936. Sport interests were softball, football, and swimming, his hobby was sketching. His occupations were as a millworker, 1936-1937, as a clerk 1937-1938 and as an upholsterer 1938-1940 when he enlisted. |
