Reason for Loss | Hit by gunfire from Admiral Hipper, plunging into water during an attack on German warships. The Blenheim was part of a force of 15 on this operation. Five failed to find the target, five reported bombing and five were lost, including four of the five 107 Squadron Wellingtons sent. Three bombs hit the Admiral Scheer but failed to explode while the Emden was damaged by a crashing Blenheim. |
