Miscellaneous Information
Kenneth was born in Maniwaki, Quebec on 11 March 1923. His father was born in Perkins Mills, Quebec and worked as a machinist and his mother was born in Maniwaki. He had a brother, Frederick Russell Wallingford. The schools he attended were Mattagami Public School, Timmins 1930-1938 ( General Entrance) and High School, Timmins 1938-1942 ( Matric Grade 11+). His sport interests were hockey, rugby and baseball at school but apart from those he preferred track and field events. During 1942 before enlisting, Kenneth worked as an Extractor man at Ontario Toilet Laundries in Toronto. |
He enlisted on 15 October 1942 and after training embarked from Halifax on 8 October 1943. He arrived at 3 PRC on 17 October 1943 then went on to 6 (0) AFU on 11 January 1944, 41 Base 16 June 1944 and 635 Squadron 14 August 1944. |
