Reason for Loss | Diverted to Foulsham on return due to poor weather. Landed well down the runway and as a result were unable to stop before colliding with a 192 Sqn Halifax (LW172 DT-H) on No. 8 dispersal. A fire broke out in the Mosquito and it was destroyed. The Halifax was unmanned but destroyed. The pilot may have been distracted by the sudden deployment of FIDO fog dispersal as he came in to land. |
