Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born at Montreal, Quebec on 15 April 1918. His father, who died 1923, was born at Baie St. Paul, Québec and his mother at La Malbaie P.Q., also deceased by the time of Joseph's enlistment. He had brothers Joseph, Roger and Arthur and sisters Ainee, Jeanne, Eva and Lucille. Two other siblings Bertha and Thomas had both died in infancy. The schools he attended were St. Jean Baptiste 1928-1935 and then St. Stanislaus school 1935-1937. Joseph enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, hockey and tennis and his hobby was reading. He worked as a Postal Messenger 1937-1941 he then enlisted on 17 July 1941. |
After training Joseph was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Canada on 20 July 1942, arriving at 3 PRC on 30 July. He was then at 4 AGS on 15 September 1942, 23 OTU 6 October 1942 and 429 Squadron on 7 January 1943. Joseph sadly lost his life on 10 March 1943. |
