Op deze plaats storrte op 3 Februari 1943 om: 20.04 uur de Stirling Mark I R9197 BU-V neer na een luchtgevecht met een Duitse Messerschmitt Bf 110 nachtjager. Alle bemanningslen kwamen.hierbij om her leven, Zij zijn begraven op her Gamenebest Ereveld van begraafplaats Rusthof in Leusden, vak XIII, rij 5 grafnummers 81 t/m 88. Met dir monument willen wu hen in herinnmering houden
Translation "Stirling Mark I- R9197 BU-V crashed at this place on February 3, 1943 at 8:04 p.m. after a dogfight with a German Messerschmitt Bf 110 nightfighter. All the crew members lost their lives here, They are buried in their Gamenebest Ereveld of Rusthof cemetery in Leusden, section XIII, row 5 grave numbers 81 to 88. With this monument we want to remember them" |

Crashed between Valleikanaal and railway near Leusden, Holland. During combat with the Stirling the Bf 110 was shot down and crashed in a meadow near the Modderbeek, at the Helweg, Achterveld. Hptm. Knacke was Killed in Action. |
