Operation | Shipping attack on Beats E and A. T2118 attacked two flakships, both of approximately 8000 tons. Bombs were seen to fall on the stern of one of the ships and the ship went down at stern. |
Reason for Loss | Aircraft hit by considerable flak over the Frisian islands, Netherlands, killing the observer, P/O Tait and injuring the pilot F/L S J Munroe. Sgt R A Tucker was unharmed. The aircraft made a safe return to base and was subsequently lost on 16th May 1941 while on the strength of 105 Squadron with the loss of three crew. |
