Miscellaneous Information
Harding was born on 19 February 1913 at Toronto, Ontario. His father was born at Norwood, Ontario but was sadly killed in action in 1916, France. He was a Lieutenant in 93rd Battalion. His mother was born in Bradford, Ontario. The schools he attended were Lakefield Public 1920- 1928, and Lakefield Prep in 1928-1933. He also went to Shaw’s Busiess College 1933-1934 and Central Tech, Toronto 1938. His sport interests were hockey, rugby, cricket and softball. Harding carried out secretarial duties for F.J. Sullivan in 1934. |
Harding enlisted on 7 October1940 and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from Canada on 7 January 1942 and was at 3 PRC on 24 January 1942. He was then at 5 SS 18 March 1942, 23 OTU 5 May 1942 and finally 419 Squadron on 23 July 1942. Sadly Harding then lost his life on 2 October 1942. |
