Frank was born on 4 April 1918 at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. His father, who was deceased by the time of Frank's enlistment, was born in Charlottetown and worked as a Merchant and mother was born at West Royalty, P.E.I. He attended West Kent School 1924-1934 and Union Commercial College 1937-1938. He spent two years working as a clerk, 1934-1936 for R. Holman Ltd. and then for Gainsboro Studio 1936-1937. After that he worked as an assistant bookkeeper for a year for Allison MacLeod Ltd. Charlottetown and as an Accountant for Humphrey Motors of Moncton, New Brunswick from 1939 until enlisting on 9 December 1940 at Charlottetown. His sport interests were baseball, hockey and football. His hobby was reading. |
After enlisting and training Frank was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Canada on 20 March 1942. He arrived at 3PRC on 29 March 1942 and he proceeded to 4 S.S 8 May 1942, 14 OTU on 23 June 1942, 1651 CU 30 September 1942, and 218 Squadron on 24 December 1942. Sadly Frank lost his life from 218 Squadron the following year on 3 February 1943. |
