Operation | Kiel- a daylight attack using cloud cover to proetect the bombers |
Reason for Loss | On the return leg home after bombing the target area successfully the aircraft was attacked by Bf110 fighters. Sgt Simpson was hit by the gunfire and despite the crew's efforts he sadly died before the aircraft landed safely at Linton on Ouse. |
