Miscellaneous Information
Nicholas was born on 26 March 1921 in Topcze Poland. His father worked as a labourer and was born at Topcze and his mother at Rovno. He had a sister Violet. The schools he attended were Aberdeen school in Montreal 1933-1938 and then Strathearn High, 1938-1940 (Commercial), also in Montreal. The sports he enjoyed were swimming, skiing and skating and his hobby was reading. Nicholas worked at the Manoir Richelieu in Murray Bay as a kitchen man, a buss boy and as a waiter, between 1938-1940. |
He enlisted on 2 January 1941 and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from Canada on 24 January 1942 and after arrival at 3PRC in January 1942 he went to 1 S.S. 17 March 1942, 2 (0) AFU 11 May 1942 and 102 Squadron 24 September 1942. Nicholas very sadly lost his life on 9 November 1942. |
