Miscellaneous Information
| David was born on 16 August 1924 at Knowlton Quebec. Both parents were born in England his father in LIverpool and his mother in Leeds Yorkshire. His father had worked as a Caretaker. He had two brothers Norman and John and a sister Elsie. He went to Knowlton High School between 1930-1942 (11th Grade). David’s hobby was stamp collecting and his sport interests were golf tennis swimming and basketball. He worked for the Southern Press as a Bindery Hand from September 1942 until enlisting on 17 September 1943. |
| After training David embarked from Halifax for the U.K. on 2 June 1944 and arrived at 3 (RCAF) PRC on 11 June 1944. He then went on to 24 OTU on 11 July 61 Base 27 September 1944 and 433 Squadron on 6 January 1945. David sadly lost his life on 10 April 1945 when he was only twenty years old. |
