Miscellaneous Information
Keith was born on 26 July 1922 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His father was born in Liverpool, England and his mother in Grand Rapids, USA. His father worked as a salesman for Wm. Wrigley Jnr. Co.Ltd. Keith had one sister Shirley Katherine. The schools Keith attended were Riverview School, Winnipeg, 1930-1937, Point Grey Junior High, Vancouver, 1937-1938, and Lord Byng High, Vancouver 1938- 1940. He worked for the Winnipeg Free Press as a carrier, 1936-1937, Stephens Tully Florist Shop as an apprentice, 1939-1941 and at the Dominion Bank as a junior clerk 1941-1942 until enlisting. Keith’s hobby was with the Boy Scouts Association where he was leader of the 31st Vancouver Troop and was a Rover Instructor 1940-1942. His sport interests were skating, hiking, and hockey. |
He enlisted on 14 January 1942 and after training was sent to the U.K.embarking from Halifax on 25 March 1944. He arrived at 3 PRC 3 April 1944, 7(0)AFU 9 May 1944, 82 OTU 20 June 1944, 61 Base 6 September 1944 and 429 Squadron 25 October 1944. |
