Miscellaneous Information
Arthur was born at Toronto, Ontario on 10 May 1922. His father born in Ottawa had died in 1938 and had worked for CNR, and his mother was born at Ashdad, Ontario. He had two sisters Gladys and Muriel. A brother Wilfred Daniel had sadly died on 8 March 1924. Arthur had worked at the Dominion Bank as a Ledger keeper and Teller between 1940-1942. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes School and St. Michael's College. The sports he enjoyed were tennis, baseball, hockey, golf and swimming. |
He enlisted on 4 September 1942. After training Arthur was posted to the U.K. and he embarked from Halifax on 10 April 1944, arriving at 3PRC on 19 April. He went on to 10 (O) AFU. 27 June 1944, 24 OTU 25 July 1944, 61 Base 18 October 1944, and 433 Squadron 31 December 1944. Sadly, Arthur lost his life on 13 March 1945. |
