Miscellaneous Information
Ross was born at Edmonton, Alberta on 25 February 1920. His father, who was born in Kingston, Ontario was a war pensioner and his mother was born in London, England. He attended North Edmonton School between 1926-1935, Edmonton School 1935-1936 followed by Eastwood School, Edmonton 1936-1938. The sports he enjoyed were hockey, baseball, boxing, tennis and swimming. His ran his own fur farming business from 1938 onwards and then enlisted on 18 February 1942. |
After initial training he was posted to the U.K. He embarked from New York on 9 August 1943, arriving in England at 3 PRC on 18 August. He was then at 6 AOS 18 May 1943, 23 OTU 22 June 1943, 1664 CU 9 September 1943, 419 Squadron 9 October 1943 and 405 Squadron on 25 January 1944. Sadly Ross lost his life on 11 June 1944. |
