Miscellaneous Information
This was a 618 Sqn aircraft (Coastal Command), although CWGC states that F/O Pavey was with 139 (Jamaica) Sqn. This accident was only a matter of 5 days after the formation of 618 Sqn from 139 and 105 Sqns and so in all probability F/O Pavey had already transferred from 139 Sqn to 618 Sqn but the paperwork had yet to be processed. |
The navigator/bomber was 1220369 Sgt Bernard Walter Stimson, who was also killed but is not included in the roll of honour because his paperwork already showed him to be with 618 Sqn, which was part of Coastal Command |
