Miscellaneous Information
James was born on 16 August 1920 in Aberdeen Scotland. His parents were both born in Aberdeen. He had brothers John, Ronald, William and Roy and two sisters Muriel and Betty. The schools he attended were the Cornwall Public School, 1929-1934 followed by Cornwall Collegiate Institute, 1936-1940. He enjoyed the sports, softball, baseball, and lacrosse. His hobby was photography. James worked at the Daily Standard-Freeholder, Cornwall, between 1936-1940 as a Printer, Compositor, Linotype operator and Stereotyper, then enlisted on 22 August 1940. |
After training he came to the U.K. arriving at 3PRC on 7 June 1941. He then went to 15 OTU 14 June 1941, and then on to 115 Squadron, 31 July 1941. Sadly two weeks later, James was to lose his life. |
