Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born on 10 July 1922 at Montreal. His father worked as a chauffeur and was born in Massachusetts, USA. His mother (deceased) was born in Montreal. He attended Holy Cross school 1928-1936 followed by D’Arcy McGee, Montreal 1936-1939. His hobby was reading and singing and he enjoyed most sports, especially baseball, tennis and swimming. Joseph worked at Munderloh Electric as a shipper/receiver between 1939-1941 and he was then a Salesman at Imperial Tobacco 1941-1942. |
He enlisted on 19 August 1942 and when his training was finished, embarked from Halifax on 16 June 1943. He arrived at 3PRC on 24 June 1943, 23 OTU 6 July 1943, 61 Base 12 November 1943, 1664 CU 29 November 1943 and 431 Squadron on 6 January 1944. Sadly Joseph was to lose his life on 9 May 1944. |
