Ernest was born on 29 September 1920, at London, Ontario. His father was born at London, Ontario, and worked as a Purchasing Agent and his mother was also born at London. The schools he attended were Public School 1925-1933 followed by High School at Wallaceburg, Ontario 1933 - 1936. The sports he enjoyed were rugby, basketball, swimming and golf. Ernest worked at Dominion Glass Co.Ltd., Wallaceburg 1936-1940. |
He enlisted on 3 January 1941 in Ontario. After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Canada on 4 November 1942 and arrived at 3 PRC on 19 November 1942. He was then at RAF Feltwell 7 December 1942 and 21 Squadron 16 December 1942. Ernest was later to lose his life on 5 April 1943. |
