Miscellaneous Information
Lloyd was born at Red Deer, Alberta on 12 December 1921. His father was a Fireman and both parents were born in Nova Scotia. He had one sister, Dorothy Nelson. The schools he attended were Ramsay Public 1926-1934 followed by Western Canada High 1934-1940 (Jnr and Snr Matric). Lloyd’s sport interests were swimming, golf and bowling. He worked for General Motors as a clerk 1940-1942, then enlisted at Calgary on 29 July 1942. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Halifax on 13 September 1943. After arriving at 3 PRC on 20 September 1943 he went on to 9(0) AFU. 9;November 1943, 28 OTU on 18 January 1944, 11 Base 15 May 1944 and then 138 Squadron on 23 June 1944. Sadly this young man aged only nineteen years lost his life on 9 November 1944. |
