| Mentioned in Despatches January 1943. Evaded capture 27 April 1942 after his 304 Squadron aircraft (Wellington W5627) was attacked by Oblt. Rauh and Fw. Borrmann of 4./NJG1 and crashed during an attack on Köln. He returned to the UK on 27 August 1942 with help from the PAO Pyrenees organisation - see evasion report WO208 3310 820. |
