Miscellaneous Information
Born Scunthorpe March 1913. His father George senior, was born in Brigg in 1887, and married Eva Bullimore of Grantham in 1912. He had four younger siblings: Joseph Cyril (born 1914) Douglas Stanley (1917) Kathleen Joan (1922) and Kenneth Thomas (1923). In 1939, George’s parents and Douglas were living at 44 High Street, Scunthorpe, where George senior was described as a master house furnisher and undertaker. George junior had left the family home by this date, and was lodging with John and Celia Jones at 274 Ashby Road. |
